PPF Factory presents an in-depth look at the new-generation Cal. 26-330 SC movement!
The 330 SC is a successor movement representing a major technical breakthrough for PPF and serving as an upgraded version of the Cal. 324.
<1> In the new 330 movement, all components are integrated into a single module, with upgrades to parts such as the balance wheel, gear train, and hairspring. The bridge finishing is exquisite; all lettering is laser-engraved, and the bridges feature Côtes de Genève (Geneva stripes) and perlage (circular graining), enhancing the movement’s overall aesthetic and premium feel.
<2> The automatic rotor has been modified; its shape is now a smoother, more rounded crescent. Additionally, a ruby ​​bearing has been added to the rotor’s central axis locking mechanism (offering greater security compared to the previous screw-based design).
<3> A crucial technical detail of the 330 movement is the addition of a functional transmission wheel (replacing the previous decorative silver wheel with a genuine gold-colored wheel). This creates a perfect four-stage acceleration system—spanning the mainspring barrel, third wheel, fourth wheel, and escape wheel—that stabilizes torque and improves power transmission efficiency during the step-by-step acceleration process, ensuring a steady balance amplitude and effectively preventing the “stuttering” of the seconds hand.
<4> The most significant addition to the 330 movement is the stop-seconds (hacking) mechanism. It employs a traditional linkage system that halts the balance wheel when the crown is pulled out; when the crown is pushed back in, it delivers a slight impulse to help reactivate the escapement module.
